About Mayor Gahan
Mayor Jeff Gahan is a lifelong resident of New Albany.
Jeff grew up right here in New Albany, graduating from New Albany High School before attending both Indiana University Southeast and IU Bloomington. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education.
Mayor Gahan and his wife, Susie, have been married for 32 years.
Susie Gahan is the principal of Fairmont Elementary School in New Albany. They are the proud parents of three daughters: Abby - a teacher in New Albany, Juliet - in college at IU, and Mackenzie - at New Albany High School. All three daughters attended New Albany Floyd County public schools.
Mayor Gahan is a lifelong Democrat, and has a record of public service.
Before taking the office of Mayor in January 2012, Jeff served two terms on the New Albany City Council, and was elected Council President by his peers four times. He is active in his church and has served on numerous community organizations and boards, including Board President of the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County and the Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency.
